Corporal Robert Hatfield of the Boone County Sheriff’s Dept. has one message for folks: “use caution during your travels this Christmas holiday,” he stated.

According to the department, drivers and pedestrians should be on the lookout for rain changing to snow late this afternoon and evening. This mixture of rain and snow will continue overnight.

Snow will produce visibilities within heavier snow, and slick spots may develop on roads, overpasses and bridges. Snowfall accumulation of up to one inch is expected by Thursday morning.

Wind gusts of 30 to 40 miles-per-hour are possible, along with isolated thunderstorms.
