Baby sign language classes begin Feb. 10 at Earth Explorer Toys

0

Earth Explorer Toys will host its first baby signing class at 10 a.m. Feb. 10 on the lower level of the store, 27 E. Pine St. in Zionsville. The free class will provide information on how parents can communicate with babies from six months to three years old through signing.

Classes will include music, games and stories and cover signs for baby’s needs and interests. According to the Earth Explorer Toys blog, baby sign language has many benefits:

  • Using sign language with babies boosts intellectual development, reduces frustration for parents and babies, and helps babies talk sooner.
  • Research on baby sign language has found that teaching baby signs improved cognitive, verbal and emotional development.
  • Baby Signing reduces baby distress and improves communication between parent and child, strengthening the parent/child bond.
