Obituary: Lorraine “Bainey” (Woods) Mullendore

Lorraine “Bainey” (Woods) Mullendore, 84, died Feb. 6.

She graduated from Broad Ripple High School, was an avid square dancer and worked for Methodist Hospital prior to her retirement. She met her husband, Andrew Richard “Dick” Mullendore Jr., in Indianapolis while working at Peerless and resided in Ohio and then in Dowagiac, Mich. until a transfer moved the family to Harrisonburg, Va.  After a tragic accident that took Dick’s life, she relocated from Bridgewater to Carmel in 1971. She is remembered as always having a smile.

Survivors include her brothers, Julius “Jude” and Terry Woods, daughters, Shirley Ann Mullendore and Stacey Jo (Mullendore) (Willard) (Smith) Dodd; granddaughters, Cassie Jo Willard, and “G’ma” to Jessica Nicole and Rachel Ann Marie Mullendore.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents, Halton and  Vivian (Barker) Woods; brother, Dickie Woods; and parents-in-law, Ruth Lydia Pauline (Steuhm) Mullendore and Andrew Richard Mullendore Sr.

Funeral services will be held Feb. 19 at Legacy Cremation & Funeral Services, 5215 Shadeland Ave., Indianapolis, with visitation from noon to 1 p.m. followed by a memorial service.
