Life-long Westfield resident Joseph “Joe” Edwards filed to run for the Westfield City Council District 3 seat on Feb. 5.

Edwards said his candidacy is based on his desire to serve the citizens of Westfield and be a part of shaping our community’s future. Born and raised in Westfield, Edwards has experience in serving the Westfield community and its residents as a former town council member, business owner, volunteer and resident.

Edwards is a graduate of Westfield High School and Butler University with a bachelor’s in business management. He retired from Indiana Farm Bureau as treasurer and chief financial officer after 33 years. In 1988, he established Edwards/Steele Financial Services with longtime friend and Westfield resident Carl Steele.

Edwards is a member of the Westfield Lions Club, where he serves as treasurer, Westfield Friends Church and the Masonic Lodge. He serves on the Hamilton County Economic Development Commission, Grand Junction Task Force, Hospital Authority of Hamilton County for St.Vincent Hospital and Westfield Washington Schools Building Corporation.

Edwards and his wife, JoAnn, have two adult children, Joey (Meg) and Jackie (Dale), and six grandchildren.
