Mark your calendar on March 5. It’s the 12th annual Taste of Carmel, a food and drink extravaganza that benefits Orchard Park Elementary.

The event is presented by Orchard Park Elementary and their PTO.

“We will have over 40 restaurants, breweries, wineries, and caterers there,” said Jennifer Penix, Immediate Past President and event organizer.

Along with all those goodies, there will be a photo booth, the opportunity to win a raffle for a piece of diamond jewelry donated by Distinctive Diamonds, and a silent auction. Personnel from the school and surrounding schools will be invited, but it is an adults-only event.

“We’re expecting over 1000 people, and our goal is to raise $25,000 for the school,” Penix said.

What’s the best thing to hear about a charity event? This:

“100% of the profits goes right back to the school,” Penix told me proudly.

The title sponsor for this event is Whole Foods Market. There are many sponsors who are giving enough money or “in kind” donations to be given Platinum status, though, all donations and contributions are very much appreciated. And please, don’t forget how important it is to buy your tickets and come by the Ritz Charles from 6 to 9 p.m., March 5. Taste what Carmel has to offer, and do it for the kids!

Tickets are now available for purchase at: www.tasteofcarmel2015.eventbrite.com. If you buy now they are $25, they will be $30 at the door, and they are just for adults who are 21 and older.
