The Heart and Soul Clinic is hosting its fifth annual Spring Fling Fashion Show and Tea fundraiser from 2 to 4 p.m. April 25 at East Street Studios, 18880 N. East St., Westfield. Heart and Soul Clinic, founded in 2009, is a faith-based nonprofit clinic providing free health care to the underinsured or uninsured.
“We are a free health clinic, and we do acute healthcare, so we pay for most medications and lab work. We specialize in assisting residents of Hamilton Country, but others come in, too,” said Sandy Kirsch, president and executive director.
The clinic heavily relies on funding from the Spring Fling event. One aspect of it is a fashion show featuring models from local stores. This list currently includes Chico’s and Gymboree, from the Fashion Mall at Keystone; Day Maurice’s and Dress Barn, from Hamilton Town Square; and Day Furs and Brides of Carmel. In addition, Chico’s has offered to extend the fundraising efforts in its store (8702 Keystone Crossing, Indianapolis) through customers who make a purchase between 4 to 8 p.m. on May 6 and mention they are there on behalf of Heart and Soul clinic.
Snacks will be catered by Amuse Bouche. The assortment of food and beverages includes finger sandwiches, desserts, crudité with dip, hot tea, lemonade, and water.
However, the fashion show is not all.
“We’ll have a silent auction along with it,” said Kirsch, “with items from various places. Lots of gift baskets and gift certificates and that sort of thing.”
As well as these, big features of the auction will include a flat screen television, jewelry, and tickets to local theater productions and Conner Prairie. Attendees also will have the opportunity to win door prizes.
Cost is $30 per person, or a table for six can be reserved for $150. Kirsch said this will help fund services and daily operations of the clinic. Heart and Soul is open for walk-ins from 9 a.m. to noon on the second and fourth Saturdays of each month. They also are open from 5:30-7:30 p.m. the third Wednesday of each month by appointment only. For more information, visit heartandsoulclinic.org.
