A WHS senior is beginning his passion for entrepreneurship with his new business to assist college kids looking for a summer job.

Stan Mattingly originally planned the business as an odd job way to make money for himself and another friend, but the idea quickly branched into College Deedz LLC to help assist other students as well.

The business doesn’t actually employ the kids, but helps them self-employ themselves. The kids who are accepted into the business will have a contact card on the website with an “About Me” portion that people searching for employees for odd summer jobs can look through.

“The whole business promotes individualism and business entrepreneurship experience, they get to operate under this reputable name instead of just knocking on people’s doors trying to do odd jobs around the house,” Mattingly said.

Mattingly will participate by self-employing himself, yet most of his time will be managing the website and marketing the business. Working at ACE Hardware in Carmel allows him a place to find clients.

He has always been interested in business and informatics, and he created and designed the website himself. Mattingly will attend IU Bloomington in the fall to major in informatics and minor in business.

Although College Deedz LLC is only the start of his entrepreneurship plans, Mattingly said he will definitely start more businesses in the future.

For kids interested in having a contact card on the website, they will need to be self-insured and pay a one-time start-up package fee.

Currently, six kids are working with the business. Mattingly hopes for around 10, but said that if the jobs start flooding in, he will be eager to take more.

More information for prospective employees or clients interested in hiring the employees can be reached at collegedeedz.com. All inquiries can contact Mattingly at [email protected] or call him at 964-9833.
