The Carmel Police Department has created a new way for Carmel residents to request a vacation check. A vacation check is available when residents are away from their residence for any period of time. When possible, officers can walk the perimeter of the residence and check the doors and windows for security purposes.
An electronic vacation check request form has been placed on the city website under Community Resource Programs/Neighborhood Crime Watch. The direct link is http://www.carmel.in.gov/index.aspx?page=759.
This form will help ensure that pertinent information is captured efficiently and in the same manner for each request. Once the resident submits the online form, the information will be transmitted directly to an electronic roll call program for officers to read. Carmel Police anticipate an increase in vacation checks because of this added electronic feature.
How it works:
- Resident submits a Vacation Check Form
- If residents don’t have internet access, officers or the front desk personnel can enter the information for them.
- If a resident needs to change the details of their submitted request, they will need to contact the Carmel Police Department front desk personnel (317-571-2500) during normal business hours (Mon-Fri 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.)
