Zionsville Redevelopment Commission discusses routes for Bennett Parkway

The Zionsville Redevelopment Commission held its monthly meeting Aug. 24 and discussed several projects.

What happened: The commission spoke about updates to the Bennett Parkway Extension

What it means: The wetlands and pipelines investigation is complete, which provides some preliminary routes for the commission to review. There are many alternatives to the routes, as it is expensive to go over pipelines. The commission is looking into speaking with Carmel officials about lengthening the route into Carmel to help avoid some of the wetlands.

What happened: Darrin’s Coffee Company’s request for a microloan was approved.

What it means: In addition to the company’s existing $4,500 microloan, the commission will provide another $14,500. This money will go to new equipment and some improvements to the facility’s new location. Since there have been no late payments in the past, the loan was easily approved.

What happened: The commission heard an update on the Creekside Corporate Park infrastructure and the costs.

What it means: Originally budgeted at $8 million, the Creekside Corporate Park infrastructure project is expected to only cost $4.8 million. It includes water, sewer, stormwater, gateway entrance and vegetation. The timeline for the project is still not set in stone, although the commission is pushing to begin construction by the end of the year.
