Letter: Don’t Bern our ladders

Editor,

Like it or not, people who produce the most value will quit producing if we take away their rewards for providing wanted products and jobs for the trained productive workers.

No national economic system has ever survived for long by practicing socialist Democrat Bernie Sanders’ dictum of removing the profit incentives from the producers and their financial backers.  He proposes taxing at 92% to 100% of all above ordinary wages.

Anthony Lewis’s expressed lust for Bernie Sanders (Reader’s View, Current in Noblesville, Aug. 25, 2015) was incredibly flowery with no substance. Anthony and his “online” minions are very confused.

Mr. Sanders’, Mrs. Clinton’s, and our President’s left-wing appeal to Democrat’s identifies exactly why our economy has stumbled ever since Barney Frank’s forced housing bubble burst in 2007. This bubble burst caused the length and depth of this last economic cycle. Bottom line; incentivizing the innovators to produce the means to distribute wealth in all directions always succeeds -even for many of those dependent upon government entitlements who complain the most.

How lame it is to envy and take the rewards from those who build the ‘ladders’ up for the rest of us. The socialist advocates of Bernie Sanders want to “Bern” (Anthony’s word) the top half of our ladders. It’s never worked!
