Social media has become a powerful and effective tool to utilize in the business world. On Aug. 20, the Independent Community Bankers of America released the top 25 Community Bank Influencers on Twitter. In its third year of running, ICBA holds the contest to highlight social media trailblazers among the community banking world. This year, Citizens State Bank Chief Lending Officer and Hamilton Southeastern School Board President John DeLucia was highlighted as one of those top 25.

“Congratulations to John DeLucia for being featured on ICBA’s Top 50 Community Bank Leaders in Social Media list,” said Chris Lorence, ICBA executive vice president and chief marketing officer. “These top community bankers understand that building a reputable financial brand goes beyond just a physical presence on Main Street. They consistently introduce fresh content and interact with their customers both in-person and online. ICBA is proud to highlight John DeLucia for making social media and digital communications part of their professional life.”

More than 6,000 community banks throughout the nation were considered for the ICBA’s social media based list. From May through June, ICBA collected nominations from community banks and received approximately 300 nominations. Banks were chosen based on their social media engagement with fans and followers, content distribution through social media platforms, number of followers and content posing frequency.

“I am pleased to be featured on ICBA’s Top 25 Community Bank Influencers on Twitter list,” DeLucia said. “It is an honor to be recognized by ICBA for social media because it as a unique, essential and vital channel for communicating with the community.”

The community banks and community bankers featured on ICBA’s Top 50 Community Bank Leaders in Social Media and the Top 25 Community Bank Influencers on Twitter will be featured in the September issue of ICBA Independent Banker magazine.
