Richard “Dick” Haywood, 72, Noblesville, died Sept. 16 at IU Health Simon Cancer Center in Indianapolis. He was born on Aug. 12, 1943 to the late Leslie and Virginia (French) Haywood in Linton, Ind.

Dick worked as a sales associate at Lowe’s, and was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. He was a family man, an avid golfer and enjoyed Facebooking. Dick’s hobby was his 1937 Chevy, and he was known for his quick wit and keen sense of humor.

He is survived by his wife, Jane Haywood, whom he married on Nov. 30, 1963; children, Richard “Rick” (Sara) Haywood, Kathy Haywood Gates and Robert (Tonya) Haywood; siblings, Judy (David) Markle and Henry (Thomacine) Haywood; and grandchildren, Elisabeth (Ryan) Haude, Ryser Haywood Gates, Taylor Haywood, Logan Haywood, Mason Haywood and Hannah Haywood.
