INDOT plans to close the intersection at 116th and Pennsylvania streets before 6 a.m. Sept. 28 to begin construction of a roundabout. The closure is expected to last about 60 days.
During the closures, access to and from 116th Street east of US 31 will be closed, but access to and from 116th Street west of US 31 will remain open.
INDOT anticipates opening the new 111th Street bridge over US 31 on Sept. 26. Eastbound and westbound access over US 31 will be available via 111th Street and 126th Street/Carmel Drive during the 116th and Pennsylvania streets closure. Direct access to/from US 31 in Carmel will remain available at I-465, 106th Street, 116th Street (west of US 31), Old Meridian Street (northbound off-ramp access), 131st/Main Street and 136th Street.
