Obituary: Buddy Lee Powell



Buddy Lee Powell, 75, Noblesville, died Nov. 17 at his home. He was born March 22, 1940 to Harley and Ella Louise (Sowers) Powell in Cicero.

Buddy served his country in the Indiana National Guard and owned his own excavating company. He was a member of the Noblesville Moose, Eagles and American Legion and enjoyed league bowling, golf and fishing in Florida.

Buddy is survived by his wife, Patty (Hooper) Powell; children, Charlene Cook, Joey Powell and Amy Landis; uncle, Charles Sowers of Naples, Fla.; brothers, Joe Powell and Jerry (Sally) Powell; step-sons, Stephen Sell and Kerry Sell; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, his sister-in-law, Linda Powell, preceded him in death in 2013.
