Letter: Roundabout improvements a waste of money

0

Editor,

I have lived in Carmel for seven years. During that time, many roundabouts have been constructed. While some of the roundabouts function as they are designed, several don’t work very well simply because of traffic volume at certain times of the day.  Now $540,000 is going to be used to improve or beautify (???) the Main St. and Keystone roundabout. Will this make it look more like a roundabout in Europe? We are not in Europe. This is such a waste of money, and it appears that it really is just a monument to the mayor. The city council needs to step up and say enough is enough. I realize this won’t happen, but at some point in time, the council will need to face reality.
