Inez Bergero Standifer, 86, Noblesville, also known as “Bootsie” to friends, died March 5 at Riverview Health. She was born Sept. 8, 1929 to Celestino and Annie (Tomko) Bergero in Wise, Va.

Mrs. Standifer had a daycare in her home for many years, and now, all those children have grown children of their own.Taking care of babies and toddlers was a passion of hers. She loved being in her vegetable garden, eagerly waiting for her flowers to bloom in the spring. She attended Lakeview Wesleyan Church for many years and was loved by young and old. She enjoyed hearing her canaries and finch birds sing, with her dogs next to her side.

Survivors include her daughter, Linda (Rick) Singleton of Noblesville; sons, Wayne Standifer of Noblesville and Ron (Debbie) Standifer of Castleton; step-son Gary (Judy) Standifer of Big Stone Gap, Va.; grandchildren, Stephanie (Matt) Coleman of Indianapolis, Ryan (Heather) Singleton of Bloomington, Mindi (Eric) Hardcorn of Kentucky, Corey Standifer of Sheridan and Chris and David Standifer of Big Stone Gap, Va.; as well as several great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David; and sister Marie Graham Bradfield, who died Jan. 9.
