Noble Industries, Inc. has plans to expand its headquarters in Noblesville after the Noblesville Common Council approved the designation of an economic revitalization area for the company at its March 15 meeting.

Noblesville Economic Development Director Judi Johnson said the current footprint of the building is approximately 70,000 square feet, with expansion planned for an additional 52,400 square feet on the five acres Noble Industries has purchased south of its current building – 39,000 of which will be warehouse and production space, and 13,400 of which will be office space – to total approximately 122,000 square feet.

“They currently employ 65 people,” Johnson said. “This expansion will allow them to hire 50 new jobs.”

Those new positions are estimated to yield annual salaries of approximately $37,000 on average.

Johnson continued, saying the overall total capital investment in the project is $6.1 million.

“Real property investment is estimated to be $3.5 million, along with $2.6 million in personal property,” she said, addressing the council at the March 15 meeting. “The request with this preliminary resolution is for a 10-year declining real property tax phase-in, as well as a four-year phase-in on personal property.”

“Noble Industries is a homegrown and longstanding business in Noblesville. I am pleased to see their continued growth and expansion,” Noblesville Mayor John Ditslear stated. “I appreciate the Parker family’s commitment to Noblesville’s job growth and strong corporate citizenship.”

“From my perspective, a long-time Noblesville company, it’s great to see you expanding in your industry,” said Councilor Greg O’Connor to company owners Greg Parker and Brenda Parker-Snyder at the meeting. “Manufacturing, nobody does that anymore, and you’re doing it. Good for you. It’s exciting to see the expansion.”

The family owned metal fabrication and manufacturing company at 3333 E. Conner St., Noblesville, has been in business in Noblesville since 1968, founded by William and Anita Parker in a less-than-300-square-foot barn. Incorporated in 1970, Noble Industries moved to its current headquarters in 1972. The company makes materials for auto, aerospace, medical, telecommunications and agriculture industries and more.

The preliminary resolution passed at the meeting served as the introduction to the project. A public hearing will be held and confirmatory resolution voted on by the council at its next meeting, 7 p.m. March 29 at Noblesville City Hall, 16 S. 10th St., Noblesville.
