The Westfield Police Dept. has released the 2015 annual report. The report highlighted training hours, the sixth year of the Westfield Citizen’s Academy, burglary decreases and change in personnel – the death of Detective Scott Clouse, who lost his battle to cancer in August – and the retirement of CSO Wally Sitzes and resignation of two officers.

Calls of service in 2015 increased from 39,158 to 44,008. Police department goals listed in the report include employee engagement, working for a safe city, enhancing infrastructure, fiscal responsibility and customer relations excellence.

The report highlighted different divisions of the department, all the community events in 2015 and more.

“Westfield’s community is able to thrive thanks to the dedication of our public safety professionals,” Mayor Andy Cook said. “I’m grateful to law enforcement for continuing to provide protection that keeps Westfield residents and visitors safe.”
