Zionsville police searching for man accused of trying to abduct woman taking out her trash

Zionsville police are searching for a man accused of attempting to abduct a woman as she took out her trash at her apartment complex.

Tina M. Rattinger, 35, told police that a Hispanic male grabbed her from behind around 11:30 a.m. March 28 as she was putting her trash in a compacter at the Domain at Bennett Farms apartments. Police said he held a knife or box cutter to her neck as he attempted to pull her toward his unmarked white van. She fought back and was able to free herself but suffered injuries as a result. Rattinger ran to the main office at the Domain to call for help.

The van is described as white, unmarked and boxy with no windows and a large ladder on top. The suspect is described as a Hispanic male with a shaved or bald head, light facial hair, 5’8” to 5’10” wearing blue jeans and a white T-shirt.

Police are asking anyone who may have information about this incident to call 317-873-5967.
