Donna Jean “Dee” Nord (née Daugherty) died unexpectedly and peacefully surrounded by her loving family March 28 in Indianapolis at the age of 68. During her final three weeks in Community North Hospital, her faith and loving and giving personality inspired each person she met.

Born Aug. 22, 1947 in Evansville, Ind., Donna graduated from Lockyear Business College and worked in the Evansville area until she retired and moved to Noblesville in 2007.

A creative, loving and accomplished seamstress, Donna was affectionately known as “Nana” by her grandchildren. She loved life and was adored by her family and friends. She was a woman of courage and perseverance, leaving her legacy of children and grandchildren inspired by her values of love, faith, hope, family, education and sacrificial giving.

Donna is survived by her daughter, Kimberly (Nord) Schneider and children, Grant, Savana, Bridget and Morgan of Haubstadt, Ind.; her son, Andrew Nord, wife Brittany, and children, Dominic and Dakota of Fishers, Ind.; her sisters, Michelle Fehd (Dale) of Smithfield, Va., and Christine Cool (Marshall) of San Jose, Calif.; and former spouse, Jerry Nord (Connie), Evansville. Donna is preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Bonnie Daugherty, of Evansville; and brother Robert Daugherty of Indianapolis.
