Contractors for the Indiana Dept. of Transportation will close Ind. 38 for up to 10 days beginning on or after July 11 to replace a drainage culvert under the highway.
The culvert is located under Ind. 38 between Ind. 32 and Hague Road and channels floodwater from Cicero Creek. The new structure will measure 6.5 feet tall by 20 feet wide and 30 feet long.
During the closure, a signed detour will direct highway traffic around construction via Ind. 32 and U.S. 31.
Calumet Civil Contractors was awarded the contract because its bid of $324,990 was the lowest of seven bids submitted for the project.
