Hamilton County Council member Fred Glynn has announced he will withdraw his name for consideration to replace incumbent congresswoman Susan Brook. This comes after Brooks officially declared she would seek to return to the United States House of Representatives.

“The past few weeks in Indiana have been very interesting to say the least.  I never expected my Governor to get picked for Vice President nor did I think it would lead to my Congresswoman seeking to replace him on the ballot,” Glynn s tated in a press release to Current.  “Out of respect for the incumbent, and for the sake of party unity going into November, I am withdrawing my name from consideration for contention at the caucus to select a Republican nominee for the 5th District” he added.

Glynn stated he was not done pursuing the principles he believes in.

“I will be going back to concentrating my energy on the government that best serves the people, local government,” Glynn stated.  “In my role on the Hamilton County Council, I will continue to aggressively protect the interests of taxpayers and promote efficient county government.”
