Lawrence Fire Department to give out smoke detectors

The Lawrence Fire Dept. has partnered with the American Red Cross to provide smoke detectors to the Lawrence residents.

From 1 to 3 p.m. Oct. 10 to 14, the fire department will be contacting households that in need of smoke detectors.

Firefighters will check detectors and replace batteries if needed or offer to replace the detectors if they are inoperative. If the detectors need replaced, firefighters will install the new detector.

Residents can also get online to the city’s website and call and request one of the above services.
