Keeping with tradition, the Hamilton County Council on Alcohol and Other Drugs will host its annual New Year’s party again, but this year, the council is partnering with Logan Street Signs and Banners and Noblesville Parks and Recreation to do something different.

The event – running from 7 to 9 p.m. Dec. 30 – will be hosted at the Recreation Annex at Ivy Tech Community College in Noblesville.

The change in location will allow residents and families to enjoy the amenities of the Recreation Annex, which includes dodgeball, Bingo, board games, Bubble Soccer and snacks.

This event continues the New Year’s Eve celebration work began by George and Linda Kristo two decades and was championed by Jim and Sherry Wafford for the past four years as First Night Noblesville. The Wafford Theater also will screen “Finding Nemo.”

“This is a great event for the whole family to celebrate the holiday while not having to be out on the actual night (of New Year’s Eve),” Noblesville Recreation Director Nichole Haberlin said. “Historically the First Night Noblesville event was hosted at the Hamilton County 4-H Fairgrounds on New Year’s Eve. We are grateful to have Jim Wafford and the Hamilton County Council on Alcohol and Other Drugs partner with the parks department to offer this safe alternative for the community.”
