Joseph ‘Joe’ A. Scott, 92, Noblesville, died Dec. 26 at Harbour Manor Care Center in Noblesville. He was born Oct. 5, 1924 to Glen E. and Beatrice (Shafer) Scott in Louisville, Ky.

Joe retired in 1986 from the Indiana State Highway Dept., where he had been a draftsman for 30 years. He proudly served his country as a captain in the U.S. Army, was a WWII and Korean War veteran and was awarded a Victory Medal. He was a Boy Scout Leader of Noblesville Troop #101, Pack #121,  a member of the Scottish Rite and the American Indian Hobbyist Group of the Tecumseh Lodge and Kunieh Society. He enjoyed model trains and hot air balloons, and was involved with the Society of Young Magicians and the Society of American Magicians.

He is survived by his son, Larry (Audrey) Scott, daughters Carolyn (Carl) Baumann, Margaret Scott, Martha (John) King, Susan (Marion Haakanson) Scott and Melissa Higgins, 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara P. Scott, who died in 2009, sister Cordelia Scott in 2011 and son-in-law Jeff Higgins in 2003.
