The International Talent Academy’s Live on TV! camp was a big ratings hit with campers when it debuted in the summer of 2016.

“We’ve heard so much positive feedback about all the activities we do during this camp week,” ITA Executive Director Tatyana Komarova said. “The room is turned into a TV studio, where they all take turns to be anchors, reporters, directors, weathermen, cameramen, commercial actors, etc. One of their favorite activities was a field trip to the Carmel Arts and Design District where they act out in front of different statues or buildings to do their own commercials on camera.”

ITA will hold the camp from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. June 19-23 (ages 9-13) at Orchard Park Presbyterian Church, 1605 E. 106th St. A special moment during the visit to WISH-8 studio was when Komarova said they were invited to be on the noon news broadcast.

“They were literally jumping with excitement,” she said. “This was, by far, their favorite moment from camp.”

The Show Choir camp will be held for the second time this summer, set for 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. June 12-16 (ages 6-12). Komarova said the show on the camp’s final day is the highlight of the week. Friends and family are invited to watch the campers perform what they learned during the week.

“Campers loved dressing up for the performance and dancing with props like wands and masks used in their songs,” Komarova said.

The Fairy Tale Kingdom camp will be held for the fourth year from 9:30 p.m to 12:30 p.m. June 5-9.

“Each day is a different theme with a different dress-up character visiting,” Komarova said. “On the first day they get a passport, and each day they register to go to a new country. Campers are very enthusiastic about the themes and enjoy learning dances, games, songs, (tea party) etiquette, world cultures and geography throughout the week, all while pretending to be fairy tale characters themselves. The favorite camp day for campers is the treasure hunt on Pirate Day. Campers love searching high and low for treasure hidden around a playground.”
