“I’m thankful to be able to do that,” said Jones, a Fishers resident. “I was fortunate to have a husband (Troy) that is supportive to help me get started.”

Gathered-Roots, 242 S. Main St., Fortville, will celebrate its grand opening April 15. Jones said there will be a sale and some new pieces at the home decor shop. Refreshments will be provided.

“Gathered-Roots is a place where you find made, found and restyled vintage pieces,” Jones said. “We have a mix of retail and handmade items.”

Gathered-Roots features vendors, each with a different style, in booth space in the shop.

The vendors are Charming Willows, which includes handmade farmhouse word signs;  Junk’D Up, which has an eclectic feel with pottery, antique furniture and a mix of retail pieces; and Metamorphosis Design and Weathered Edge, which both feature refinished furniture and share space in the shop.

“Most of their stuff is cedar chest, hutches, vanities, desks and whatnot,” Jones said. “They can do custom work as well.”

Jones previously had a booth space in another shop in Fortville.

“I just wanted to branch out and do my own thing,” Jones said. “So far it’s been a good first few weeks. We’ve had a lot of traffic and likes on our Facebook and Instagram pages.”

Jones’ specialty is retail home decor.

“I also go picking for farm finds we have in the shops, like corbels, old windows, ladders, galvanized buckets and other decor pieces,” Jones said.

Jones has two children Aiden, 8 and Anna, 6.

The store is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday and noon to 4 p.m. Sunday.
