County providing sandbags, closing roads as flooding continues

A yellow-level travel advisory remains in effect today after rain continued through last night.

Hamilton County Emergency Management is again offering sandbags to assist Hamilton County residents prepare for potential flooding. Sandbags are available today, May 5, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Filled sandbags are available for self-service loading, transportation and disposal at 1717 Pleasant St. in Noblesville. Proof of Hamilton County residency is required to obtain the bags. Sandbags are most useful ahead of flooding so residents should take steps ahead of time to prevent any possible flood waters. Sandbags are only available for flood mitigation.

On roadways throughout the county, public safety officials have taken steps to close impassable roads since yesterday in addition to placing high water signs and barricades. Drivers should use caution or avoid those areas completely.

Rainy conditions are expected to last through Saturday.

The Hamilton County Highway Dept. released an updated list of closed and dangerous roads throughout the county.

The following roads are closed:

-106th Street east of Cumberland Road

-191st Street between Summer Road and Victory Chapel Road

-196th Street between Mystic Road and Pilgrim Road

-206th Street between SR-37 and Creek Road

-266th Street between SR-19 and Startsman Road

-276th Street between US-31 and Dunbar

-281st Street between Anthony Road and Cal Carson Road

-Albright Road north of 281st Street

-Crooked Creek Road between 266th Street and 281stStreet

-Cumberland road south of 226th Street

-Cyntheanne Road between 191st Street and 196thStreet

-Devaney Road between 281st Street and 291stStreet

-Devaney Road south of 266th Street

-Dunbar Road between 271st Street and 276thStreet

-Edith Avenue between boulder Drive and Cumberland Road

-Mt. Pleasant Road between 256th Street and 266thStreet

-Promise Road between 181st Street and 186thStreet

-Riverwood Avenue between 206th Street and Riverwood Subdivision

The City of Noblesville also provided this list of closed roads:
