Carmel police are investigating string of thefts from unlocked vehicles that occurred overnight July 11 near 116th Street and Keystone Parkway.

Sgt. D.J. Schoeff said that between five to 10 thefts have been reported but that others likely took place. He said police are not releasing information on what has been reported stolen.

“Warmer weather certainly brings out opportunists, but certainly this can happen at any given time of the year,” Schoeff said. “We would definitely want people to remember – regardless the time of the year – to have their doors locked and valuables out of their vehicles.”

Anyone with information on the thefts is asked to contact the Carmel Police Dept. at 317-773-1282.
