Students at all Zionsville Community Schools had the opportunity to watch the Aug. 21 solar eclipse. At Zionsville West Middle School, fifth-graders gathered outside to witness the moon pass between Earth and the sun. Every student was provided NASA-certified glasses from the Zionsville Educational Foundation, thanks to a special grant request. The strategic initiative grant fell outside the normal fall and spring grant cycle but was approved because of the timeliness and educational opportunity for ZCS students. (Photo by Heather Lusk)
