National Novel Writing Month, commonly shortened to NaNoWriMo, has hundreds of thousands of participants every year worldwide. The goal is to write a 50,000 word manuscript between Nov. 1 and 30. Several books written during the month have been published through traditional publishing houses, including the novel Water for Elephants, which was turned into a film starring Robert Pattinson and Reese Witherspoon.

Faulkner will talk about his new book, “Pep Talks for Writers: 52 Insights and Actions to Boost Your Creative Mojo.” He’ll be available to answer questions from NaNoWriMo participants as well.

The event will begin at 7 p.m. at Quirkey Feather Confectionary, 890 E. 116th Street, Suite 125.
