Fishers Police Dept. arrests three teens in shooting investigation

Three arrests have been made following a Sept. 21 shooting near Ind. 37 and 131st Street in Fishers.

Fishers Police Dept. detectives were able to identify several people with knowledge of the shooting. FPD and Fishers Fire Dept. dive teams discovered a handgun believed to be used in the shooting in a retention pond near 116th Street and Hazel Dell Road. On Sept. 27, Hamilton County Superior Court issued arrest warrants for three suspects.

The suspects are Alan Mendez, 17, of Indianapolis; Alexander Lopez, 16, of Indianapolis and Ivan Jeronimo, 18, of Indianapolis. The victim was Jose Gomez, 18, of Fishers.

Mendez is charged with attempted Murder, robbery resulting in serious bodily injury, armed robbery, aggravated battery, dangerous possession of a firearm, intimidation, pointing a firearm at a person, theft, carrying a firearm without a permit and enhancement for use of a firearm.

Lopez is charged with robbery resulting in serious bodily injury aiding, inducing, or causing; robber armed with a deadly weapon, aiding, inducing, or causing; aggravated battery, aiding, inducing or causing; and theft, aiding, inducing or causing.

Jeronimo is charged with robbery resulting in serious bodily injury aiding, inducing, or causing; robber armed with a deadly weapon, aiding, inducing, or causing; aggravated battery, aiding, inducing or causing; and theft, aiding, inducing or causing.

All suspects are being held at the Hamilton County Jail. A charge is merely an accusation and an arrested person is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
