One dead after morning crash in Noblesville

An early-morning, single-vehicle crash in east Noblesville at Middleton Avenue and Cyntheanne Road has resulted in one death and one injury in east Noblesville at

Shawn Butler, 38, Cicero, died after officers from the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office said his 1990 Cadillac Deville left the north side of Middleton Avenue. Butler over-corrected the vehicle, hitting a utility pole at approximately 2:39 a.m. Aug. 2.

Officers said they dispatched after a report was made about Butler being trapped and unresponsive. His wife, Rachel Butler, 33, Cicero, was a passenger in the vehicle and was partially trapped. She was transported to St. Vincent Hospital on 86th Street for a possible head injury.

Toxicology tests were performed to determine if alcohol or drugs were involved in the crash, and results are pending.
