Elizabeth Jolly, left, and Amy Jolly, right, cut up old record album covers to create unique folders and notebooks at Hussey-Mayfield Memorial Public Library. The mother-daughter pair joined several other adults and teens during the Upcycle Album Cover event on July 17. The craft-focused event was offered in conjunction with the library’s Rockin’ Summer Reading program, which has an underlying theme of music. “Upcycling” means reusing discarded objects or materials in a way that results in a product of a higher quality or value than the original. The participants found new uses for the unwanted vintage albums by turning them into folders and notebooks. For more information about upcoming Library events, visit zionsvillelibrary.org/events.
