CarmelFest requires much collaboration

For more than 30 years, CarmelFest has been a staple in central Indiana. The two-day festival featuring Carmel’s biggest fireworks display would not exist without the Rotary Club of Carmel, the event’s presenting sponsor.

The CarmelFest executive committee, which includes the Rotary Club president, the CarmelFest chairperson and former chairpersons, began preparing for this year’s event in September 2018. The executive committee is tasked with finding vendors, scheduling entertainment, organizing CarmelFest Has Talent and the Centier Bank CarmelFest July 4th Parade with assistance from individual committee chairpersons and members.

“A big piece of the festival is the parade we have to run, and there is the festival itself and all of the corporate sponsors we work with, too,” said James Bednarski, CarmelFest chairman.

In addition to presenting the festival, the Rotary Club of Carmel also sends Rotarians to volunteer each day.

The CarmelFest committee collaborates with other groups as well. Students can volunteer in various capacities while the City of Carmel provides public safety officials and street department services.

Individuals and groups may sign up for volunteer positions at carmelfest.net.
