CIZ COM 0514 CulinaryStudent2 — The regional and state competitions require all participants to make and bake from scratch a bread loaf, a braided bread loaf, six knotted bread rolls, a pumpkin bread loaf, a pumpkin pie and a dozen sugar cookies followed by cake decorating, all within a four-hour period. Runkel received multiple culinary scholarships for placing first in the state competition.
