Letter: Theater parking lot dangerous

0

Editor,

I stepped into a pothole in the parking lot at The Great Escape Theater (Regal Cinemas Noblesville 10, 10075 Town and Country Blvd.) in Noblesville last June. It was in a place very near where I exited my car, so it was difficult to spot. I ended up chipping my ankle bone in two places and suffering extreme soft tissue damage from whiplash, which has still not healed.

When I filled out the incident report on June 24, 2018, the manager wrote on the report that the pothole would be repaired within 30 days. It has still not been repaired nearly a year later.

A few weeks ago while at the theater, I witnessed the same thing happen to another person. She filled out an incident report, and I and another person gave our information as witnesses. I told the manager that the same thing had happened to me last June, and I asked her why they had never repaired the pothole. She said that they have been getting estimates to get the work done. I said, “For 11 months?”

When it happened to me it caused a great deal of pain and is taking a lot of time to heal. It may have happened to others. If all the potholes had been repaired after my injury, like the incident report stated, it would not have happened to the woman that was hurt a few weeks ago.

This could cause a very serious injury to a small child.

Bonnie Hicks, Noblesville
