WMS past principal Ryan Haughey is new Noblesville West Middle School principal

Ryan Haughey, most recently the principal at Westfield Middle School, has been hired as the principal at Noblesville West Middle School. He has spent has spent the past 16 years in the Westfield Washington Schools district.

Haughey announced his hiring in a July 16 email to WMS parents.

“I wanted to inform you that beginning in the 2019-20 school year, I will become the new principal of Noblesville West Middle School. The decision to leave Westfield Middle School was one of the most difficult decisions I have ever had to make. I will cherish every relationship and memory over the past 16 amazing years at Westfield. The opportunity to lead Noblesville West, in the community where I live, was an experience I could not let pass by,” Haughey stated in the email.

Since starting at WWS, Haughey has served as a WMS seventh-grade social studies teacher, the WMS dean of students, the WMS assistant principal and he has been in his most recent role as WMS principal for the past five years.

“These experiences have impacted me in such a profound way and made me into the person and educator I am today. Westfield Middle School is truly a special place to be and will forever have a special place in my heart,” he stated. “Those that have had the pleasure to walk the halls and interact with the students and staff know this to be true.”

Mike Hall, the current principal of Monon Trail Elementary School, was announced as the new WMS principal July 23. WWS did not announce the new MTES principal.

“It has been a privilege to serve as the principal of such a great school with an amazing staff, students and supportive families,” Haughey stated. “Thank you all for making such a strong impact on my life, and for allowing me to have an impact in your child’s experience at WMS.”

Haughey has a master’s degree and principal licensure from Indiana Wesleyan University and an educational specialist certification from Indiana State University.
