A day of health and wellness, beauty, fashion,  food, personalized gifts and more is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 19 at the Ladies (& Gentlemen’s) Day Out fundraiser at Grand Park, 19000 Grand Park Blvd. The event will benefit Riley Children’s Foundation.

More than 250 vendors will be on-site, and former NFL player Trent Shelton will host a meet-and-greet with photo opportunities. The day will be conducted by Unwind Your Time, an event-planning business owned by Jenny and Joshua Gard. The couple began conducting trade shows in 2017 to bring “positive people together and allow them to network their businesses with people for a purpose.”

“We decided to host a fundraiser to help someone or something that really could use the help for each event,” Jenny said. “Our previous shows have raised money and supplies for The Scratching Post, Beacon of Hope and several families in need. We want our shows to be remembered and have a positive impact on everyone involved.”

The Gards chose Riley Children’s Foundation because they strongly believe raising money is key to support disease research efforts and treatments.

“The federal government doesn’t supply many funds towards medical research. Those funds rely on donations from volunteers that support the cause,” Jenny said. “Our goal is to host a yearly event that brings surrounding communities together for a day of shopping and fun while benefiting Riley Children’s Foundation.”

Surrounding communities have donated more than $3,000 in items and services to be raffled with all proceeds benefitting the foundation.

Other events for the day include craft time with the Royal Encounters who will help kids make crowns and superhero masks. Happily Ever After Productions will perform “Frozen” with autographs and pictures after, and Tina’s Traditional Old English Tea Room is presenting a Princess Tea Party for 10 winners to have tea with the princesses.

But the guys haven’t been forgotten, either.

“We have created ‘The Man Cave’ for (men) to hangout in, play cornhole and other interactive games while the ladies are shopping,” Jenny said. “There will also be a silent auction where (they) can bid on authentic autographed pictures and gear from some of your favorite athletes.”

Tickets can be pre-purchased for $3 at Eventbrite or at the door the day of the event for $5. Children 12 and under are free. Parking also is free.
