OneZone Chief Operating Officer Jack Russell always looks forward to the OneZone Business Excellence Annual Awards Luncheon.

“The Business Excellence Awards are a great way for us to highlight the amazing things and people that our communities of Carmel and Fishers have to offer,” he said. “This is one of my favorite luncheons of the year because we have so many great businesses that are a part of OneZone, and to hear people’s stories and to see their investment in our communities means so much to our organization.”

The awards luncheon is set for 11:30 a.m. Dec. 11 at Ritz Charles in Carmel.

OneZone seeks nominations for Business of the Year, New Construction Award, Renovation Award, Volunteer of the Year, Green Award and Young Professional of the Year. Lifetime Achievement Awards are given out as well. It is the only category where there is a Carmel and Fishers award, Russell said.

The Carmel and Fishers chambers of commerce merged into OneZone in February 2015.

Nominations for the awards recently closed.

“I think all of our awards draw interest evenly (as far as nominations),” Russell said. “With 1,400 members, we always get great nominations for Volunteer of the Year. We also have a very active young professionals’ group which brings in a good amount of nominations. With all the great things going on in Carmel and Fishers, the new construction and renovation awards always have great projects (nominated). Some years, new construction may have more nominations and other years renovation may have more.”

Russell said the Business of the Year category draws a strong amount of nominations “because we have so many businesses doing great things in our communities.”
