Licensed mental health counselor Colleenia Korapatti recognized the community needed more urgent service offerings for mental health.
“In response to being a therapist in the community for about 15 years, I just recognized the need for more urgent services, because if someone has an emergency, which is technically being homicidal and suicidal, we have great ERs around Indianapolis and a pretty good amount for therapists, so I tried to really look into how I can more fit the need for urgent mental health needs,” the Fishers resident said.
Korapatti recently opened The Anxiety Relief Center, 11083 Village Square Lane, and offers biosound therapy.
“I offer a very unique treatment that tends to relieve and provides relief for most people in a one-hour session by giving them techniques to use in the session and outside of the session,” she said. “It’s a form of biofeedback combined with music therapy and video content.”
Korapatti uses biosound therapy to treat anxiety, depression, anger issues, chronic impulsivity and other conditions.
The Anxiety Relief Center accepts walk-ins on Mondays and Fridays and scheduled appointments on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
An hour of biosound therapy is $90. So far, Korapatti has had several walk-in patients.
“I am the first one in Indiana,” she said. “The gist people need to know is that it exists, and there are walk-ins or appointments for it.”
