Although she has been involved with the company for more than a decade, Megan Mallory Ritz became owner of Classic Cakes in August 2019. Her journey from intern to baker to cake decorator to general manager of “the coolest place in Indiana” began by learning to decorate cakes from the founder of the business, Ilene McHone.
Born in Brighton, Mich., Megan graduated from Zionsville Community High School and earned a degree in culinary arts from Chef’s Academy. In addition to creating custom cakes for any occasion, the bakery also offers classes for different skill levels and demonstrations on Facebook Live.
Megan and her husband are animal lovers who met while volunteering at the Humane Society for Indianapolis and have been together for 13 years.
