Noblesville Main Street had a full slate of events scheduled for the spring and summer and recently announced its plans for the events in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Canceled events include Upstairs Downtown, which was originally scheduled for May 8 and the Street Dance usually held in June due to the large number of people who attend the event.
“It is with a heavy heart that we announce these alterations to our calendar,” stated Lorna
Steele, Executive Director of Noblesville Main Street. “These decisions were not made
lightly, and our Board discussed them at length. Main Street is currently engaging our partners in the community to see new and unique ways we can continue to enrich our downtown, cultivate partnerships, and create culture throughout this unexpected time.
Rest assured that we will continue to make decisions on our event calendar with the
health and safety of our city and the surrounding communities in mind.”
Postponed events include the Noblesville Farmers Market, which began May 16 instead of the first weekend in May. The market will run through Oct. 24 and be held at Federal Hill Commons. Initially, it will be limited to essential vendors. Changes will be made to the market to allow for social distancing guidelines.
Noblesville Main Street also announced some new events in response to the pandemic, as well. The new events include Love Noblesville, a new program to support downtown businesses built off the theme of 2019’s Small Business Saturday. Another new event is the Noblesville Drive-In Movie Theater, in which Noblesville Main Street is planning to partner with Jim Wafford of Wafford Theater and Logan Street Signs & Banners to host a drive-in theater for early summer.
The location, dates and times are still to be determined.
