ISDH reports 521 additional COVID-19 cases

The Indiana State Dept. of Health today announced 521 additional Hoosiers have been diagnosed with COVID-19, bringing to 33,558 the total number of Indiana residents known to have the new coronavirus following corrections to yesterday’s total.

As of today, nearly 38 percent of ICU beds and nearly 83 percent of ventilators are available.

A total of 1,946 Hoosiers have died from COVID-19, an increase of 40 since yesterday, following a correction. Another 164 probable deaths have been reported based on clinical diagnoses in patients for whom no positive test is on record, following a correction. Deaths are reported based on when data is received by the ISDH and occurred over multiple days.

To date, 248,713 tests have been reported to the ISDH, up from 242,287 on Thursday.
