The Fishers High School cast of “The Brothers Grimm Spectaculathon” is embracing the fairy tale spins. Certainly, senior Savanna Jensen has been.

“The fun thing about these fairy tales is that some of them are classic fairy tales but with a silly twist, and some are just completely absurd, made-up fairy tales,” Jensen said. “This creates for a super fun and crazy show.”

The show will be performed at 7 p.m. Nov. 20-21 in the FHS Auditorium.

“My favorite thing about portraying Narrator 1 is that I get to be bossy,” Jensen said. “Throughout the show, Narrator 2 (Ben Holland) and I have this hilarious conflict. Narrator 1 is just trying to get through the show as quickly as possible, whereas Narrator 2 wants to prolong the show and make it even more entertaining. This makes the show a complete train wreck. It has been super fun to draw upon the friendship that Ben and I have in real life.

“We have really been able to play up our characters and have lots of funny moments and inside jokes.”

Jensen said rehearsing for the show has definitely been interesting and slightly challenging at times.

“We have had to rehearse in masks and practice social distancing as much as possible,” Jensen said. “We will actually be wearing masks for the performance. The performance will be livestreamed, and we plan on having a socially distanced audience. It has definitely been a unique experience, but I am just so grateful that we are able to have a show at all. This world needs theater now more than ever.”

Although subject to change, an audience capacity of 400 is permitted. A recorded version will be available for those watching at home. For more, visit theatrefishers.com.
