On Dec. 18, the Boone County Sheriff’s Office announced arrest of a former Zionsville Community Schools substitute teacher on charges of child seduction.

In early November, the Boone County Sheriff’s Office received information about an alleged child seduction case when ZCS reported to the Indiana Dept. of Child Services that Shawn Martin II, 26, allegedly engaged in inappropriate sexual conduct with a juvenile female student.

According to a press release, the incident took place off school property.

The Boone County Criminal Investigations Division opened an investigation following the allegations.

On Dec. 10, Martin, who turned himself in, was arrested and booked into the Boone County Jail on a Boone County felony warrant for two counts of child seduction, a Level 5 felony. He has since posted bond of $505.

The arrest resulted from the combined efforts of the Zionsville Community Schools, Boone County Sylvia’s Child Advocacy Center and the Boone County Sheriff’s Office.
