Brick Street Market will return to Zionsville May 1.

Last year, the outdoor vendor and artisan fair was rescheduled for August because of the COVID-19 pandemic. This year, the annual event returns the first Saturday in May, its traditional date.

Brick Street Market is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 1. It will be held on Zionsville’s brick Main Street.

Allyson Gutwein, executive director of the Zionsville Chamber of Commerce, said more than 125 vendors applied to participate. She said the number of participating vendors has yet to be determined.

“We are looking for really, really strong attendance based on the interest we have heard expressed by people who want to attend the event,” Gutwein said.

The chamber worked closely with local officials to ensure best practices for safety are followed, Gutwein said. Attendees will be required to wear a face mask, except for children younger than 2. Masks will be provided at the event for those who do not have one, and hand-sanitizing stations will be located throughout the event space.

Gutwein said the event is expected to provide much-needed exposure and business for Zionsville shops and restaurants.

“The idea in doing large-scale events is that we bring traffic into Zionsville so that they can see what a great town we have and shop, dine, use business services that we have here and want to come back,” Gutwein said. “The idea is to drive that traffic in and help not only the temporary businesses that are set up for Brick Street Market but make sure that our businesses all over Zionsville have patrons that are coming past their doors.”
