First Internet Bank is nearing completion of its new six-story, 170,000-square-foot headquarters at the southeast side of 116th Street and the Nickel Plate Trail. First Internet Bank President Nicole Lorch gave members of the media a tour of the property.

Lorch said the First Internet Bank employees will occupy the third, fourth, fifth and sixth floors, and 10,000 square feet of the first floor will be for retail bank space. The second floor is 30,000 square feet and is available for commercial lease. The first floor will house Tiburon Coastal Cuisine, a seafood restaurant and steakhouse that will open in fall 2022. It will be at the northwest corner of the building facing the Nickel Plate Trail.

Lorch said some First Internet Bank employees might move in as early as the weekend of Nov. 20.

The headquarters features custom art, including a mural that will span the third, fourth, fifth and sixth floors. A replica of the mural will be on the first and second floor.

“We are really excited about that piece of artwork,” Lorch said. “It brings in elements from Fishers and Indianapolis and is a great focal point for our employees and a great conversation piece as well.”

A grand stairwell will extend from the third floor to the sixth floor.

“We felt it was really important to give our employees an opportunity for what we call collisions,” Lorch said.

The bank considers collisions as inter-department conversations.

“We want to make sure people are bumping into one another and having those conversations,” Lorch said.

The building also has a roof deck for employees featuring fire pits, outdoor yoga, cornhole and bar seating. First Internet Bank has 285 employees, 200 of which will be based at its new headquarters.

First Internet Bank employees also have access to a gym, four beer kegs and two wine kegs and a central cafeteria.

“We really do find being able to bring people together is an important part of our culture,” Lorch said.
