Enough of Spigelman

Editor,

Marnin Spigelman, again? Really? Last week I was relieved to read that Mr. Spigelman had left the city, erroneously believing that he would no longer feel the need to “educate” us poor, deluded citizens of Carmel about what a horrible place we live in with fiscal storm clouds looming overhead that we are obviously too focused on navigating roundabouts to see.

Is he now a columnist for your paper? Why do I not only see his diatribe against the city, the government, the people of Carmel, but now a picture of him?

My family moved to Carmel in 1992. We chose Carmel because of the schools – there wasn’t much other reason to choose Carmel at that time. Now we live in a vibrant city with athletic and cultural amenities and an active downtown area where we can sit outside enjoying a meal or a drink with friends while listening to live music. We are grateful to the schools which educated our daughter. We appreciate the mayor for his vision of what Carmel can be and the hard work of everyone who is making it happen.

What has Marnin Spigelman ever done for Carmel? If it was someone like Jeff Worrell expressing concerns, I would be inclined to listen. Has Spigelman volunteered for anything other than his failed attempts to run for mayor? Has he helped the schools, the library, assisted with Carmel Fest, volunteered with the Rotary Club or any other charitable organization? Please don’t give any more print space to this self-important whiner.
