Around 4:30 a.m. May 12, Westfield firemen were called to a barn fire at 17465 Little Eagle Creek Ave. When crews arrived, Chief Joe Lyons said they found a 30-by-60-foot storage barn fully engulfed in flames. Crews worked to contain the fire to the structure and the fire was under control by 5 a.m. Lyons said no livestock was in the barn and no injuries were reported.

“Investigators are awaiting a report on lightning strike locations in the area to confirm the cause,” Lyons stated.
